Blue Comedy Fest is a three-day comedy festival highlighting and embracing off-color (and maybe even offensive) comedy.

Inspired by
Ribaldry, also known as blue comedy, and is about as rude as it is hilarious. You won’t have to worry about IF you’ll feel bad for laughing, I’m telling you, you will! With this project, I wanted to take things in our life too painful to laugh at spin them on their head with bright colors and harsh but hilarious copy.

The Process
Laughter and jokes have always been a coping mechanism I leaned heavily on. I realized that many people felt the same, drowning in misery that they were sometimes looked down upon for laughing at. Blue acted as platform for these jokes to be told, laughed at, and laughed with. To match this energy with irony, I wanted the brand it to be a bright, almost neon beacon in the dark allies of pessimistic NYC.  I wanted people to smile when they see the frown of the logo and laugh at what makes them feel blue.
